Yalea Supports The Know Your Lemons Foundation

The brand that always supports women promotes breast health education

Longarone, 1 October 2024

Yalea – house brand of the De Rigo Group that aims to promote the contemporary female universe by supporting women’s freedom of choice, encouraging their talent and rewarding their inner and outer beauty – takes to the field alongside Know Your Lemons, the non-profit Foundation started in 2014 by Dr. Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont after suffering a personal loss due to breast cancer. The Foundation is committed to helping women around the world to more easily recognize and report the symptoms of this disease by offering creative and stimulating education.

The mission of the Know Your Lemons Foundation is to make information more engaging and accessible to a broad and diverse audience, overcoming the barriers of taboo, fear, and illiteracy that have stood in the way of awareness about breast cancer for decades. This is made possible through three initiatives: an app for early diagnosis, courses taught by trained volunteer educators and a global campaign available on social media, in print and online in over 30 languages.

Yalea has expressly chosen to help improve the early detection of breast cancer through a donation aimed at supporting the free screening application distributed by the Know Your Lemons Foundation. To train the spotlight on the project, two styles of dedicated eyewear have also been developed, a pair of sunglasses and a prescription pair, characterised by elegant pink bow-shaped glued elements on the front and a “Yalea – Pink Ribbon” bow on the temple. The project will be promoted in stores with breast cancer awareness brochures designed for the final consumer and a dedicated display case.

With this collaboration, Yalea once again confirms its all-round  commitment to women, ranging from the proposal of eyewear styles that enhance the personality and uniqueness of each one, to concrete involvement in support of projects that, everywhere in the world, support women’s growth, affirmation and independence. In fact, the brand has already supported the humanitarian organisation Women for Women International, in Nigeria and Afghanistan, to help women in countries affected by conflict so that they can rebuild their lives independently, providing them with a safe space and training programmes to promote their social and economic emancipation.
