Frida Kahlo, an artist among the most appreciated and celebrated globally. A woman who redefined the concepts of femininity and inspired generations of women to pursue authenticity, personal strength, and active participation in society.
Frida Kahlo was born in 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico. From childhood, Frida began to demonstrate a great devotion to life, overcoming a severe case of polio and surviving a nearly fatal bus accident, which caused her chronic pain and health issues for the rest of her life. During her slow recovery, painting became a way for Frida to explore issues of identity and existence. It is during this time that she began to develop her iconic artistic style.
Style expressions
The elegant design of the capsule collection was developed around an important element for Frida: the cempasúchil flower (Mexican marigold).
Frida often wore flowers as a decoration in her hair or as a detail in her dresses. For this reason, in the collection, flowers become a motif of stylistic communication as a detail on the temple or as a pattern in the worked core.
The care in aesthetic details combines with the precision of manufacturing techniques, such as the bridge that mimics Frida’s iconic eyebrows, an expression of stylistic rebellion. Even the temple tip shaped like a paintbrush, emblematic of her life and work, becomes the symbol representing her art.
